The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 2002R "Conversations Among Us" is a collaboration between the Chicago based sneaker and streetwear designer and New Balance on a colorway of the casual lifestyle shoe that helps tell the story of Black Americans. The "Conversations Among Us" campaign is a collaboration between Joe Freshgoods and Black Soles, a collection of Black New Balance associates that aims to shed light on the experiences of Black folks in America. The 2002R is one of several New Balance models included in the "Conversations Among Us" collection. Dressed in a summer-ready color scheme, the shoe features cream mesh on the base and cream tumbled and glossy leather on the overlays. Orange accenting appears underneath the overlays, specifically on the toe, tongue, and heel. A grey "N" logo with black and orange trim is found on the sides. "Conversations" and "Among Us" detailing appears on the left and right heel, respectively.
