The Nike Dunk High "Somos Familia" is a colorway from the "Dia de los Muertos" collection dedicated to the traditional Mexican holiday. The "Somos Familia" is one of several colorways from the Nike sneaker series with family-inspired designs consisting of colors found in traditional floral ofrendas (decorative altars) that are displayed during the holiday to commemorate the lives of those who have passed away. Specifically, the shoe features gold leather overlays that contrast with a textile base with a unique split graphic design inspired by salt and water, which are found in ofrendas. An orange Swoosh can be found on either side of the shoe. Additional orange accenting comes into play on the sock liner, nylon heel tab, and on the graphic on the lateral heel.
