In 2014 Nike SB, Jordan Brand, and skate legend Lance Mountain teamed up for what many people deemed the collaboration of the year. The resulting Air Jordan 1 by Lance Mountain features a mismatched pairing of the "Bred" and "Royal" colorways coated with black or white paint, a motif inspired by the practice skateboarders in the 1980s customizing their skate shoes with spraypaint and markers. With and extremely limited release, the collaboration has since become one of the most sought after Jordan 1s on the market.
