The Air Jordan 1 "Sports Illustrated" is a special edition colorway of the iconic model inspired by the first cover of Sports Illustrated that Michael Jordan appeared on as a member of the Chicago Bulls. After appearing on the SI cover in college, Jordan quickly made the cover as a Bulls rookie in December 1984 with the headline "A Star Is Born." The magazine showed Jordan in action against the Milwaukee Bucks, and that image inspired this Jordan 1 colorway. The shoe features a black and white leather upper. The green and white embroidered Swooshes with a red border are a reference to the Bucks' uniforms. Each pair also comes with three sets of laces in black, red, and green. The Air Jordan 1 "Sports Illustrated" released on December 27, 2018.
