The adidas Consortium 4D Runner "Friends and Family" is an incredibly rare edition of the cutting-edge sneaker. The 4D Runner features a 3D-printed midsole manufactured with an innovative Digital Light Synthesis process that utilizes "digital light projection, oxygen-permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to generate high performance, durable polymeric products," according to adidas. In other words, the shoe is built with one of today's most advanced athletic footwear productions. This special "Friends and Family" edition of the 4D Runner sports a light grey Primeknit upper with mint green stripes to match the 4D midsole. The adidas Consortium Futurecraft 4D Runner "Friends and Family" was only given out to a select few members of the adidas Consortium family in 2018.
